- Define a pre-cycle cycle that can be played in the machine [completion:: 2024-10-22]
This is because LHCPILOT which goes to Imax on the dipoles do not go to the same on the quadrupoles. Similarly, SFTPRO1 cannot be used as pre-cycle, since the quadrupoles only go up to 1773 A on flattop, whereas the LHC ion cycles go to 2110 A
In LSA the quadrupoles can go to 2200 A, whereas norma dB says 2100 A.
We could use the 1 Inj LHCION cycle to precycle both the SPS Main Dipolesand SPS Main Quadrupoles.
Calibration function
For the calibration function we take a measurement from Quadrupole measurement campaign 2and brute-force calculate the slides when we are ramping up (injection plateau + ramp + extraction), and rap down, based on CTime from LSA, and use them to fit a calibration function

We fit a calibration function by taking the average between ramp up and ramp down fields (extremes of hysteresis loops) of the LHCPILOT after the second pilot.
Compared to the Tune to I function (multiplied by a factor 0.0376 for scaling tune to approximate field) we see a clear difference between the fitted and the measured. In both cases the max current goes outside of of the domain of the measurements.
The calibration function does not seem very well fitted, and needs to be further calibrated
